Standing with our itel Family in Jamaica
Houses flooded with mud and water. Roofs blown off. Clothes, shoes, and bedding destroyed.
This is the reality many of our team members face in Montego Bay, Jamaica, in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa – the most powerful and destructive storm in Jamaica’s history. Some have lost everything, while others are struggling to support displaced family and friends. They are desperate for support and eager to get back on their feet.
We are making sure they have a safe, fully restored workplace to come back to while supporting them as they rebuild their communities. As a company proudly born in the Caribbean, this tragedy strikes at the heart of who we are. In moments like this, our values come into sharp focus — especially Family, which has always been at the center of the itel culture. To us, family extends beyond our employees to includes our clients and partners who share our belief in care, compassion, and community.
On the Ground in Montego Bay
Hurricane Melissa made landfall as a Category 5 storm, the most powerful and destructive in Jamaica’s history. Winds exceeding 175 miles per hour and relentless rainfall caused widespread flooding, landslides, and extensive damage to homes, hospitals, and critical infrastructure. Today, much of the island remains without power or clean water, and thousands of families have been displaced.

Rise for Resilience: Our Coordinated Response
To help our team members rebuild their lives, itel has launched Rise for Resilience, a coordinated initiative through the 4Ys Foundation to provide both immediate relief and long-term recovery support to our employees and their families. This is a focused and accountable relief effort, ensuring transparent distribution of funds and clear reporting on impact.
Rise for Resilience is a movement that reflects the strength, hope, and spirit of our people. Together, we can help restore stability and a sense of normalcy to those who need it most.
Many of you in our global community have reached out asking how you can help. We have created a platform so that you – our extended itel family – can do just that.

Employee Needs Assessment
We launched the itel Relief Line to conduct a structured needs assessment, giving us a clear picture of priorities and where funds will have the greatest impact. Through secure, direct employee form submissions, we’re collecting verified information on individual circumstances, with data continuing to come in as connectivity improves.
Urgent Needs
Our initial assessments show that the most urgent priorities are food and clean water. We have already begun providing immediate relief in these areas. Hygiene and toiletries are also critical, followed by home reconstruction and clothing.
How You Can Help
Through the 4Ys Foundation, we are mobilizing immediate and ongoing assistance to affected employees and their households. We invite you – our valued client and partner – to join us in this effort.
Your contribution will directly help itel team members and their families who have been most affected by this disaster. Any excess funds, once employee needs are met, will go toward employee-led community relief initiatives aligned with our values.
Thank You
On behalf of everyone at itel, thank you for your compassion, your partnership, and your shared commitment to standing with Jamaica as it rebuilds. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who give so much to serve our clients every day.
